ARIS is urgently seeking $25,000 in matching funds towards the spiritual and physical provisions needed for the thousands of Jews living in Islamic countries and territories to observe and celebrate Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, and Sukkot under the guidance of their local ARIS rabbi.

ARIS rabbis will be supporting the thousands of Jews living in these countries with their high Holiday observance and celebrations: Azerbaijan, Morocco, Nigeria, Turkey, Tunisia, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Uganda, Uzbekistan, UAE, Muslim majority region of North Cyprus, and the Russian republics of Tatarstan and Bashkortostan. Furthermore, ARIS will be shipping lulavim and etrogim to Jews living in Iran, Egypt, Lebanon, and Libya who lack communal support.

The funding will be distributed to each community to help cover the purchase of shofrot and sets of lulavim and etrogim, as well as the hiring of hazanim (cantors) to lead services on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.

The Alliance of Rabbis in Islamic States (ARIS) was created to connect and support the activities of rabbis serving Jewish communities in predominantly Muslim countries.
